Nuuly is the clothing rental service from URBN, the company behind Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and Free People. For a flat monthly fee you pick six pieces from thousands of styles, wear them all month, then send them back and pick six more. It is built for everyday wardrobes rather than one-night events.

How does Nuuly work?

Subscribe, then build your box from the Closet: dresses, denim, workwear, outerwear, even vintage. Sizes run XXS to 5X, with plus, petite, tall, adaptive, and maternity assortments. Your six items ship fast and free. When the month is up, return them in the reusable bag (or at an Urban Outfitters store) and choose again. Return early and you can unlock your next box sooner.

How much is Nuuly?

There is one plan: $98 a month for six items, plus tax. Shipping, returns, laundry, and dry cleaning are included, and there are no late or damage fees. Want more? Add up to four bonus items for $22 each. Anything you love can be bought at a discount. New members can usually get the first month cheaper with a promo code on the site.

Is Nuuly worth it? Nuuly vs Rent the Runway

If you would otherwise buy a few new pieces a month, yes: six items for $98 is roughly $16 a piece, cleaning included. Compared with Rent the Runway’s $129 for five items, Nuuly is cheaper and more casual; Rent the Runway has more designer labels and lets you swap more often on higher plans. The trade-offs with Nuuly are popular styles running out in your size and one shipment per cycle.

Pros: great price per item, huge size range, cleaning included, no damage fees, buy-to-keep discounts.
Cons: one box a month, inventory gaps, fewer luxury designers.

How to cancel Nuuly

Go to Manage Subscription in your account and pause or cancel anytime. Return your current items first to avoid being charged for them.

Nuuly alternatives

  • Rent the Runway for designer labels and more frequent swaps.
  • Stitch Fix if you want to keep the clothes.
