Lucky Vitamins – “The Man Box” Review

Lucky Vitamin is an online wellness product store that sources beauty, food, and fitness products. They release various boxes and collections throughout the year, filled with products to help you live an eco-friendly, healthy lifestyle. Today, I will be reviewing “The Man Box.”

Here is Lucky Vitamin’s description of the box:

“Let’s face it – whether in the office, at the gym, or out and about, smelling fresh and looking sharp is important for a man. If you don’t want to be a scrub, you need to scrub away dirt and grime, plus take a few extra steps along the way! The Man Box is perfect for men looking to expand their hygiene horizons. It includes samples of the best natural grooming items for men, handpicked by LuckyVitamin’s in-house experts. The Man Box is a $50 value for only $9.99, a deal even the thriftiest of men can appreciate.”

12 products for only $9.99? That’s a deal you don’t see very often. I’m excited to dive in and see what all is included in the box. A big thanks to my fiance for agreeing to test out some of the products that I couldn’t use!

Herban Cowboy – Dry Deodorant Body Spray

This deodorant sprays on dry & clear, so you don’t have to worry about having sticky or uncomfortable underarms. It’s a strong spray, perfect for wearing to a workout or for playing sports. My fiance has recently joined a gym, and it’s super convenient for him to just pop it in his gym bag and apply right before the workout. The twisting nozzle keeps it from making a mess, and the spray format is easy to apply. Plus, the deodorant doesn’t contain any aluminum or chemical propellants.

Bulldog Shave Gel, Face Wash, and Moisturizer Samples

Bulldog has a straightforward range of skincare for normal, sensitive, oily, or mature skin. The lines are purposefully built for men, and specially formulated to help you look and feel your best. We were not able to try out these sample packs; they would not work with my sensitive skin, and my fiance is very particular about products he puts on his face. However, Bulldog products have excellent reviews online, and are supposed to leave your skin feeling smooth and fresh.

Herban Cowboy Forest Milled Soap

This vegan soap is enhanced with chlorophyll and rosmeary leaf extract, and is made with sustainable sourced palm oil. It’s infused with essential oils such as lavender and oakmoss, and it smells divine! Like the name implies, it smells like a walk through the woods and it’s very masculine but still lovely.

Shea Moisture Men – Bourbon Commodore 4 in 1 All-Over Wash

Wow, this one product works as a shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and moisturizer! This is perfect for men who, like my fiance, try to have as simple of a hygiene routine as possible. The wash is infused with shea butter, which locks in moisture and keeps your skin feeling smooth.

Every Man Jack – Aluminum-Free Cedarwood Deodorant

Yay, another aluminum free deodorant! My fiance preferred the convenience of the spray on deodorant, but he likes the way this one smells more – and I agree! Cedarwood gives it a spicy, warm scent that covers up pesky body odor. After doing some research though, it seems that Every Man Jack changed their deodorant formula last year, and that this gives some people chemical burns. I don’t want to be responsible for anybody injuring themselves so PLEASE make sure to always test skincare products on a small portion of your skin and wait 24 hours before proceeding to use it. This is best practice to use with all products, regardless of how high or low the ratings are.

Method Men Cedar + Cypress Body Wash

Oh cedar, how I love you. I have a confession; I love the way this smells so much that I’ve been using it myself! I was previously using the Old Spice Bearglove wash, but I think this smells soooo much better. Plus, it lathers easily and is cruelty free. What’s not to love?

Andalou Naturals – Men Invigorating 3 in 1 Body Wash

I have seen a big trend in hemp based products, and I’ve been a big fan of them so far. This body wash can also be used on your face and hair, and it contains bioavailable vegan ingredients formulated to be gentle and effective for all skin types. Even though this is made for men, it’s gentle enough that I can use on my own skin without breaking out.

OKAY – Men Professional Beard Pomade

This is another product that neither I nor my fiance were able to try out; in fact, nobody in my circle of friends even has a beard right now so I couldn’t beg anybody to give me their thoughts on the product. There is not a lot of information about this pomade online either; the description is vague, and I can only find one review (and it’s one star). The review mentioned that their pomade arrived half empty, but we didn’t have that problem.

In case you’re interested, here’s the description of the product from the Lucky Vitamin website: Tame that beard with OKAY Men Beard Pomade. This pomade helps polish, style and hold your hair and beard. Perfect for all hair types and textures.

The Grandpa Soap Co – Pine Tar Body Wash, Shampoo, and Conditioner

I’ve been using The Grandpa Soap products for a while now, and I really love their Scalp Therapy line. I have a problem with my scalp producing excess sebum, and something about their formula just works wonders. I enjoy the herbal, almost medicinal smell of the Pine Tar products. My fiance said he liked the smell, but that he wasn’t a fan of their cooling effect.

Badger – Unscented Lip Balm

The final item in The Man Box is an unscented lip balm made from extra virgin olive oil, beeswax, and rosemary. It doesn’t smell like anything, but it has a faint herbal taste and gives your lips a tingly feeling – which I’m assuming comes from the rosemary. I’ve commandeered this lip balm, because I’m not a big fan of the sickly sweet way most women’s lip balms taste.

Wow, that was so many products for only $9.99! The Man Box was stuffed full of useful products to up your hygiene game, while still saving a LOT of money. Even though we weren’t able to try out every single item, I think the box has a great value and would make a great gift or treat for yourself.
