Discovery+ is raising prices for current U.S. subscribers: starting with your first billing date on or after November 12, 2026, the ad-supported plan goes from $5.99 to $6.99 a month, and the Ad-Free plan from $9.99 to $11.99. New subscribers have paid the new prices since October 13, 2026.

When Your Bill Goes Up
- Billed by discovery+ or an app store: your subscription renews automatically at the new price on your first billing date on or after November 12, 2026
- Promotional discount: your price will not increase until the promotion ends
- Billed by another provider (Amazon Prime Video Channels, DIRECTV, the Roku Channel, Sling TV): your provider will tell you about any change

Why Now
The Verge reports that the increase came one week after Paramount closed its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, which owned discovery+ and HBO Max. The combined company plans to merge Paramount+ and HBO Max into a single service over time, and it is not yet clear whether discovery+ will stay a standalone app. The Verge also notes that discovery+ last raised prices in January 2025, and that many of its shows, such as 90 Day Fiancé and Deadliest Catch, are also on HBO Max.
Our Take
If you mostly watch TLC, HGTV or Food Network shows, the ad-supported plan at $6.99 is still one of the cheaper streaming subscriptions. Ad-Free subscribers take the bigger hit at $24 more a year. If you already pay for HBO Max, check whether the shows you watch are there before your next discovery+ renewal, and decide before your first billing date after November 12.
