Color Curate is a beauty subscription box that sends out a limited edition makeup bag and 4 full sized makeup products each month! Their makeup is colorful, vegan, and cruelty free. A monthly subscription is $20.95 per month, but the makeup is worth way more than that! Today, I will be reviewing the April 2019 Color Curate box. If you are interested in this one, just sign up for Color Curate by 11:30 p.m. EST on April 30th.
April’s makeup bag has such a cute design, and is perfect for spring. It features a plump little bluebird perched on some colorful flowers. This is my favorite bag design from Color Curate! It is also high quality – the material is thick and durable, and it can hold quite a bit of makeup.
There were four items in April 2019’s curation:
- So Susan Cosmetics Liquid Matte Long Wear Liquid Lipstick in “Pumpkin” ($14)
- Trifle Cosmetics Lava Liner ($10)
- Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Nebula Eyeshadow in “Interstellar” ($22)
- So Susan Cosmetics The Carnival Ultra Vibrant Gradient Eyeshadow Palette ($45)
- Makeup Bag ($12)
So Susan Cosmetics Liquid Matte Long Wear Liquid Lipstick in “Pumpkin”
I was so happy to see this in my bag! Years ago, I received this “Pumpkin” shade in a different makeup subscription box. It was my favorite liquid lipstick ever; it has a truly matte formula without drying out your lips, and the shade is so flattering with my coloration. I am so happy to finally have it again! “Pumpkin” is a warm orange shade, probably closest to terracotta. It looks amazing with earth toned eyeshadow!

Trifle Cosmetics Lava Liner ($10)
Next, I received a water-resistant liquid eyeliner – this is the first time I’ve received eyeliner in a Color Curate bag. The liner is pitch black, and has a fine felt tip that is perfect for making a precise line. This liner applies smoothly and doesn’t bleed. However, I noticed that it isn’t as water-resistant as it claimed. I was able to wash off a hand swatch with a small amount of water and gentle pressure. None of my other water-resistant liners wash off that easily.. But, if you aren’t depending on this for water-resistant qualities, it is an excellent liner.
Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Nebula Eyeshadow in “Interstellar” ($22)
I love the Nebula eyeshadow formula; it applies with the ease of a powder, but has the color payoff of cream shadow. “Interstellar” is a gorgeous metallic gold. However, I kind of wish I had received a different shade. Color Curate included “Interstellar” in their November 2018 box. There are two other shades of Nebula Eyeshadow, and I would have loved to try one of them out.

So Susan Cosmetics The Carnival Ultra Vibrant Gradient Eyeshadow Palette ($45)
Wow, this is a big-ticket item! I love it when makeup subscription boxes include full-sized palettes. The Carnival palette features four colorful gradient shades, perfect for Coachella! The shades aren’t as pigmented as what I’m used to from other Color Curate shadows, but the colors are pretty and creative. I especially love the “Festival” shade, which is a gradient of blue, purple, and orange.
From top to bottom swatches: Regalia, Festival, Weekend Splurge, Concert.
Here is my makeup of the day, using the products from the Color Curate April 2019 bag.
I really enjoyed the items in April’s collection! Like I said before, I would have loved to receive a different shade of Nebula eyeshadow, but the one included was still gorgeous. Color Curate is an excellent way to try bold, vegan makeup while saving tons of money. A monthly subscription costs $20.95, and this month had a value of $103.
