I subscribe to approximately 40 boxes per month, with the majority of those being beauty boxes. While I like the Allure Sample Society box, it definitely is overshadowed by several of the other boxes. The samples are decent, with most being deluxe size (in between a sample and full-sized product). There are not a lot of high-end cosmetics, but this is one of the less expensive boxes at $15/month, so the focus seems to be on products with more mass appeal. I have no major issues with the box, but it isn’t my favorite.
Though I like most of the things I’ve gotten, many of the samples are pretty mediocre. I found that you have to be very careful when ordering, don’t hit the order button more than once (it is real ‘touchy’).All in all though for what you get for the price, it’s probably one of my more favorite beauty boxes.
This has since been revamped as the Allure Sample Society and totes 5 deluxe size sample products – and the deluxe sizes are really quite generous and can easily be used more than a few times so you can actually test out the product for more than a swipe. My most recent box contained a full size gloss and a super size deluxe sample of a wonderful hair masque and a Laura Mercier illuminatior powder. A great way for a work at home mom to feel pampered.
I just got my first Beauty Bar Sample Society box and I was completely impressed. As one of the lower priced beauty boxes, I wasn’t sure what I would get. While most items were sample sized, they were name brand, high quality products I’d actually use. My first box had samples of perfume, Murad moisturizer, lip balm, foundation, and an awesome candle. Great box and items at a great price.
