Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand As Ever has added three holiday gift baskets to its shop: The Hostess Basket ($211), The Parlour Basket ($242) and The Pantry Basket ($259). We priced every item inside against As Ever’s own shop, and the results are uneven: one basket costs less than its contents bought separately, the other two cost $56 and $66 more. They join the $148 As Ever x Compartés Holiday Advent Calendar, which works out to about $6.17 a chocolate.
What’s Inside the 3 As Ever Holiday Baskets?
All three come in As Ever’s woven wicker basket with leather and gold-tone details, and As Ever gives an estimated ship date of November 17.
The Hostess Basket, $211 (small basket):

Our Math: Which Basket Is Worth It?
- The Hostess Basket: the items add up to $227, so the $211 basket costs $16 less than buying them one by one, and the wicker basket comes free. It’s the only one of the three that undercuts its contents, mostly thanks to the two $64 candles.
- The Parlour Basket: $186 of products for $242, so you pay $56 for the basket and the packing.
- The Pantry Basket: $193 of products for $259, a $66 premium for the large basket.
In other words, if you want the pantry staples and don’t care about the wicker, ordering them separately saves you $66, and free ground shipping kicks in at $50 either way.
The $148 As Ever x Compartés Advent Calendar
The other As Ever holiday headline is its first advent calendar, made with Los Angeles chocolatier Compartés and on sale since October 1. It holds 24 handcrafted chocolates in a keepsake box inspired by Meghan’s Montecito home and garden. Flavors draw on As Ever’s Strawberry, Raspberry, Blackberry and Orange Marmalade spreads, plus a chocolate finished with her Flower Sprinkles and a Compartés dark chocolate ganache truffle, and each piece carries its countdown number hand-painted in edible gold in Meghan’s handwriting, according to As Ever.
Our math: $148 for 24 chocolates is $6.17 a piece, for a box that weighs about 12 ounces. For comparison, Compartés sells its own chocolate advent calendars for $120 on compartes.com, or $5 a door. You’re paying roughly $28 more for the As Ever design and flavors.
Our Take
These are gifts, not subscriptions, and they’re priced like luxury gifts. If you’re set on an As Ever basket, the Hostess Basket is the one that makes sense on paper. The advent calendar is a fan piece more than a value buy. Keep in mind that As Ever doesn’t accept returns on these products and ships only within the United States.
Best for: As Ever fans and hosts who want a ready-to-give gift. Skip it if: you care about price per item; the Pantry and Parlour baskets mostly charge you for the wicker. We haven’t tested these products.
