ORLY is retiring Color Pass, its quarterly nail polish subscription box, after eight years. The Winter 2026 box, which started shipping on October 15, 2026, is the last box of the current program. Quarterly subscribers won’t be billed for a Spring 2027 box, and annual subscribers with boxes left on their plan can choose a refund or ORLY store credit.
What Is Happening to ORLY Color Pass?
ORLY announced the change on a dedicated Color Pass retirement FAQ, checked on October 18, 2026. “After 8 colorful years, ORLY Color Pass as we know it is changing,” the brand writes. The Winter 2026 Color Pass box “will be the final box in the current subscription program.” The Color Pass page now carries the same notice, with “Winter 2026 now shipping.”
Why the change? ORLY says it wants to be “more aligned with how our customers shop and discover color today” and to “focus on new, exciting ways” to discover its colors and collections. The brand adds that it is “working on what’s next,” but it hasn’t said what that will be, when it will launch or whether it will be a subscription. We’ll update our coverage when ORLY shares details.
What Was in a Color Pass Box?
Color Pass ran for eight years as a seasonal box. According to ORLY’s Color Pass page (checked October 18, 2026):
- Price: $49 per box, charged every season, no commitment
- Stated value: “$80+ MSRP” per box, according to ORLY
- Contents: six full-size nail lacquers, plus nail art, a nail treatment and extras, with ORLY’s new seasonal collection before its public release
- Schedule: boxes started shipping on January 15, April 15, July 15 and October 15
Recent boxes included Club Tropicana (Summer 2026, bold brights and neons) and Moments of Bliss (Spring 2026). ORLY’s Color Pass page doesn’t detail the contents of the final Winter 2026 box, so we can’t tell you yet what’s inside. Source: ORLY.
What It Means for Subscribers
Here is what ORLY’s FAQ says, depending on your plan:
- Quarterly subscribers: nothing to do. Your subscription works as usual through the end of the program, you get the Winter 2026 box, and you won’t be billed for a Spring 2027 box.
- Annual subscribers whose plan already ended with Winter 2026: nothing to do. Your subscription ends normally and you won’t be asked to resubscribe.
- Annual subscribers whose plan ran past Winter 2026: you can choose between a refund for the unshipped part of your subscription or ORLY store credit equal to the remaining product value. ORLY says eligible subscribers should have received an email with personalized options.
- If you don’t answer: ORLY says it will automatically refund your original payment method, where possible, if it hasn’t received your choice within 30 days of its first email.
- Store credit: it doesn’t expire and can be used on orlybeauty.com.
Heads-up: if you were on an annual plan that extended past Winter 2026 and you haven’t seen that email, check your spam folder and contact ORLY’s customer service ([email protected]) before the 30-day window runs out, so you get the option you actually want.
Can You Still Sign Up?
Yes, for a limited time, according to ORLY. Its FAQ says the Fall 2026 box was available through October 14, and that the Winter 2026 quarterly box is available for purchase from October 15. Based on ORLY’s first-box rules (sign up between October 15 and January 14 and your first box is the holiday collection), a new subscriber today would get the final Winter 2026 box and nothing after it. ORLY’s FAQ also mentions “the final two boxes” for anyone subscribing “now,” a line that appears to date from before the Fall box sold out, so check what your order includes at checkout.
Several past Color Pass boxes are still listed in ORLY’s shop as one-time purchases. As of October 18, 2026, Moments of Bliss was listed at $72.40, the 2000s, 1990s, 1980s and 1970s boxes at $72 each, and Après Ski at $61.04, while supplies last.
Our Take
This is a clean exit by subscription standards: no surprise charge for Spring 2027, a refund by default for annual members who don’t respond, and store credit that doesn’t expire. Still, it’s a loss for nail polish fans. At $49 for six full-size lacquers plus extras, Color Pass was a straightforward way to get each new ORLY collection early.
It is also part of a wider trend this fall of beauty and lifestyle boxes rethinking the classic subscription. COCOTIQUE ended its monthly beauty box after September, and Cloth & Paper’s Intention Box is switching from monthly to quarterly in November. If you want to keep a beauty box going, our best beauty subscription boxes of October 2026 shows what’s inside the main options this month. We haven’t tested the Winter 2026 Color Pass box.
