Pret A Manger is pushing its US coffee subscription, Club Pret, with a first month free for new members. After that, the plan costs $50 a month and covers up to 5 barista-made drinks a day plus 20% off the entire Pret menu in participating US shops.
What Club Pret Includes
- Up to 5 drinks a day: organic coffees, teas, lattes, hot chocolates and more, in any size, hot or iced, with any milk or plant-based option.
- Unlimited add-ons: syrups, compotes and extra espresso shots are included.
- 20% off food and extra drinks: in shops and through Pret Pick Up.
- Pret Perks: 2 stars every month the membership renews, plus 1 star on every extra purchase. 10 stars unlock a free perk.
- Pause or cancel anytime: the membership auto-renews monthly and is managed in the Pret app.
There is a 30-minute wait between drink redemptions. Pret’s launch announcement listed matcha among the included drinks, but the current fine print on the Club Pret page says matcha drinks are not redeemable as part of the plan, so check the app before you order one.
The Math: 150 Drinks for $50
If you max out the plan, 5 drinks a day over a 30-day month comes to 150 drinks, which works out to about 33 cents a drink. Pret itself pitches the plan at under $2 a day. A more realistic routine of one coffee each workday is about 22 drinks a month, or roughly $2.27 a drink, still well under the price of a single latte at most coffee chains.
How to Join
Download the Pret app, create an account and sign up for Club Pret. No code is needed for the free first month. Members must be 18 or older, and the plan only works in participating US shops.
Our Take
Club Pret is one of the most aggressive coffee subscriptions in the US right now, and the free month makes it a zero-risk test. It only pays off if a Pret shop is part of your daily commute: two drinks a week will not justify $50. Set a reminder before the first renewal so you can cancel if your routine does not match the plan.
