OwlCrate is ending its YA Book & Goodies subscription. In the theme reveal for its November 2026 box, the book box company states it will be “discontinuing our YA Book & Goodies subscription after the December box.” That leaves 2 boxes: November, themed “Long Ago and Far Away”, and December. Renewal for November is on Sunday, Nov. 1.
What OwlCrate Announced
The line sits at the bottom of OwlCrate’s official November YA theme page: the YA Book & Goodies box, the classic monthly box with an exclusive hardcover and 4 to 5 bookish goodies for $38.99 a month, stops after December 2026. The same page still links to OwlCrate’s YA Book Only subscription, and OwlCrate’s adult fantasy box revealed its own November theme, “Your Soul Knows Mine”.
OwlCrate November 2026: “Long Ago and Far Away”
The November book follows a young man who loses the person he loves most and sets out to bring her back, only to get tangled up with the fae and a cruel shop owner. OwlCrate lists these special edition features:
- Exclusive redesigned dust jacket art, plus reversible dust jacket art
- Printed hardcover case art with foil
- Designed end pages and stenciled edges
- Digital author signature, author letter and bonus content bound into the book
- Ribbon bookmark, 6″ x 9″ book size
The goodies are fandom-neutral, with one item inspired by Juniper & Thorn. The box also includes the next mug in the Elfhame Mug Collection, the next set of Bookish Tarot Cards and OwlCrate’s annual reading planner.
What Subscribers Should Do Now
- Renewal: OwlCrate renews on the 1st of each month. Check that your November renewal went through by Thursday, Nov. 5.
- Collectors: November and December are the last chances to complete the Elfhame mugs and Bookish Tarot sets in this box.
- Book lovers only: if you mostly want the special edition hardcovers, look at the YA Book Only plan.
Our Take
This is the second big YA box to step back this year, after Once Upon a Book Club ended its young adult box. Adult fantasy and romantasy boxes now get most of the attention. If you collect OwlCrate merch, do not skip November: the reading planner and the series items make it one of the strongest boxes of the year, and there is only one more after it.
